Chadwick Boseman nails as Black Panther. It's a jolt of a movie. The superhero drama presents formidable acting, astonishing art direction, spellbinding royal intrigue, indelible action sequences, and surprising depth.
Movies to an extent have been responsible for deteriorate the reputation of an entire culture, then it's their responsibility to rebuild it.
As every MCU movie, the plot follows directly the events narrated in Captain America: Civil War, where he was introduced as superhero Black Panther.
The movie takes you to the tribes of Africa where an unknown hidden world capable of mining the super-rare, super-durable vibranium that makes up Captain America's shield and uses it to enhance their machinery, medication and other things that are still unknown to the outside real word.
Welcome to Wakanda, a 3rd world nation is basically nothing. Sure, it's picturesque in its own way.
T'Challa's father was killed during Civil War and this is where he rose up to be the new King and takes his father's place as the new Black Panther.
This is one of the movies that strips away the armor and we see the king behind the black panther. It introduces audience to a new civilization or culture which leaves them astonished.
The humor overrides the drama. The movie brings the incorporate side with the sentimental family issues and craving for the throne as Erik Killmonger (born N'Jadaka), the son of Prince N'Jobu who was killed by T'Chaka(T'Challa's father) comes to take revenge for his father's doings.
The story revolves around T'Challa stopping Erik Killmonger who intends to fall havoc all over the world by using vibranuim technology. The mixture of genres like Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi and Drama ships all its boarding passengers with excitement, thrill and curiosity.
The speculation behind vibranuim technology, Wakanda's throne and revelation of the kingdom to the world is spellbounding.
The music was haunting, special effects were jaw dropping, photography was breathtaking, costumes were absolutely beautiful. Acting was solid.
At times I had trouble understanding what was being said. It also seemed to show the same close ups of the tribal council over and over as well as the ritual to become the Black Panther.
All characters are fascinating and versatile. While not all the characters are portrayed as comics intended all the characters apart from one - M'Baku were played exceptionally. But my main praise goes to outstanding black female characters in the movie and actresses portraying them! Not only do they outshine male counterparts they outshine Wonder Woman movie character.
CONCLUSION
Black Panther feels like two different movies just like Godfather feels like three different movies. But in the end Black Panther is fantastic. It is about a king coming into the throne and dealing with being a new king. And while the telling you the story they bring a very interesting, fascinating, colorful and vibrant civilization. With the inauguration of vibranium mining and its technology the movie tempts every single brain in the world to watch it.
