ABOUT THE MOVIE : 

THE  MOVIE IS BASED ON SAIRAT BY NAGRAJ MANJULE, 
THE COUPLE LOOKS SO CUTE IN THE MOVIE THAT I AM SURE THAT THE AUDIENCE IS GOING TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THEM .... 

SET  IN RAJASTHAN , THIS MOVIE TELLS THE AUDIENCE ABOUT HOW THE PROTAGONIST DEALS WITH CASTE DIFFERENCES AND HONOR KILLING....

Dhadak is Janhvi's debut Bollywood film and releases a few months after her mom Sridevi's death. "I miss her today," Janhvi said at the launch, adding that the megastar wanted her to work in a film like Sairat, reports news agency PTI. Dhadak is a remake of Marathi National Award-winning film Sairat, which released in 2016."I saw Sairat with mom at home and I remember telling her 'I wish that this was my first film and I could do something like it'. Me and mom had this big discussion on how she wanted a role like this for me and then you (Karan Johar) called and it happened," Janhvi said, PTI reported.

 

Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan, who previously helmed Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Khaitan said when he saw Sairat, he kept watching the film on loop and was blown away. When it came to the adaptation though, he was “extremely nervous".“It was a story wanting to be told all across the country. It is so relatable. I want to make the story my own and to pay the best homage to Sairat. I’m really proud of Dhadak and these two kids,” the director said. When Karan questioned if he was nervous about showing the film to Sairat director Nagraj Manjule, Shashank said, “I am extremely excited. I started out with remake of DDLJ, so I am not really scared.”
