Midst the charm of the campus and the crowd, it is really difficult for
aspirants all over the globe, to get the college of your choice. Delhi
University offers both entrance based and merit based admission procedures.
The Admission Procedure Is As Followed:
OFFICIAL WEBSITE : http://www.du.ac.in
Application forms: The University started it's online admission
portal from May 15,2018 for undergraduate courses. The registered candidates
will get an individual id and password to fill the application form. You can
choose as many courses as you want, by filling a single application form. The
online registration for UG courses closes on June 7th, 2018. Apart from St
Stephens College and Jesus and Marry College, all the colleges have a common application
form.
Cut off lists: Once the
registration procedure comes to halt, students must check for the cut off lists
released by the University. The first cut off list, is destined to be released
on June 19,2018 followed by three days of admissions. Second and third cut off
lists are expected to be released by 25th and 30th of June. Fourth and fifth
cut off lists are to be released by 6th and 12th of July respectively. More cut
off lists can be added, if vacant seats are available.
Verification
of Documents: Once you acknowledge the cut offs, you are ready to enroll
yourself in the college of your choice. You need to go to the UG admission
portal and select the college you want to apply in. Download the college's
form, from it's website. You are requested to carry the following documents
with you, at the time of admission- Class X and XII mark sheet, provisional
certificate, recent character certificate, caste certificate (if any), transfer
certificate and your passport size self attested photographs.
The candidates
need to visit the respective college, for the verification of their documents
and calculation of percentage required for the course they want to pursue. This
is a time killing procedure.
The college will
retain the original documents to avoid multiple admissions. Once you are
selected, you will be notified on the UG admission portal. In case of any
withdrawal, cancellation or counseling for any college, the faculty has to
return the original documents. They will be returned otherwise, once the
admission procedure ends.
Payment of fees: Once the admission is done,
you are requested to visit the online UG admission portal and pay the college
fee online.
Withdrawal/Cancellation of Admission: Just to add, if you want withdrawal from the
college you have taken admission in, then you can collect your original
documents by writing an application to the principal of the college and then
check for seats in the college you want to take admission in. If there are
vacant seats available, then you will be informed by the principal of that
college. And then you can take admission there.
